The special styrene butadiene latex (SBR) for asphalt modification produced by our company is a copolymerized lotion obtained by cold polymerization of butadiene and styrene at low temperature under the action of anionic emulsifier and non-ionic emulsifier. It contains 26% bound styrene and is an opalescent water dispersion with a slight blue luster.
As asphalt lotion modifier, latex has great application value in highway maintenance, and can significantly improve the low temperature extension ability, high temperature stability, creep characteristics and anti-aging ability of base asphalt.
The latex is easy to be evenly dispersed with asphalt lotion in the presence of stabilizer, which can increase the cohesive force of slurry seal mixture, significantly improve the low-temperature performance of mixture, and effectively prevent low-temperature cracking of road asphalt; This latex also has the characteristic of significantly improving the high-temperature performance of asphalt.
When the latex is used for modified asphalt waterproof coating, the blending stability between emulsified asphalt and latex is good. When used as modified asphalt waterproof membrane, the method of latex evaporation blending can be used for modification. This method can ensure that the asphalt and rubber are in the most uniform mixing state, greatly improving the modification effect.
